Ok i got a call from my brother who is using my pickup for the weekend. He informed me that today a problem started that when you go in reverse, it feels like the parking brake is on and has to put a little pressure on the pedal to get it moving but in drive it moves freely?? yes I know the obvious question is if the parking brake was on and no it was not set...I am currently not availible to go take a look at it until tomorrow evening but if you guys can assist me to get some ideas to look for, I would greatly appreciate it...quick info: 02 f250 4x4 manual hubs in the free position...thanks in advance
well anyways it does sound like the hubs are locked and in 4 wheel drive! but your not there to look at it so whos too say they may have been 4 wheelin in your truck?
Not only that, the reverse gear in our autos has been known to be a weak spot, but usually backing up a grade with a load where it will puke fluid. Not sure what conditions your truck is seeing and I am far from a tranny expert. Not even sure why it pukes fluid backing up a grade either. Hopefully I will learn something here. Trannies are a mystery to me at times.
Well upon taking off the rear wheels, we found out that the rear brake pad had broken in half and one half was missing and one piston on the caliper was broken...I bought this truck used with 50k miles from kansas and the rotor and calipers on both sides were rusted...we had to heat up the rotor with a torch to hammer out the rotor because it would not slide it off the studs.well I forgot when i disconnected the brake line from the caliper to pinch off the brake line and you guessed it the line now has air in it but my father and I bled the rear brakes and the pedal is still spongy so now we have to bleed the master cylinder...damn sometimes my truck gets me frustrated but I love the way it intimidates cars on the freeway
