Over 10K miles on my current oil, and the level on the dispstick is almost exactly wher eit was when I topped her off at the oil change. Virtually no consumption. 130,000 miles on the clock.
question, those rotella 1 gallon containers at wal-mart, those are equal to 4 quarts right? not 3? on the side of the container, it only raeds to 3 quarts on it. i dont see a 4th mark?
thanks,
just thought id ask sins were talking about oil's
The ones I buy are labeled 4 qts on the front and they do have 4 qts. Jim
Yes... OilGuard unit. I installed it the same day as my last oil change. I had one Blackstone analysis at 6K miles, and will be getting the second one at 12K.
I never add oil between changes, at least so far anyway, knock on my head. Of course I never really go anywhere either and tow a boat occasionaly LOL. I think my oil simply ages rather than racks up the mileage. I hate that. At this rate I will hit 100k in the year 2030.
Same here, in my 2003 7.3L the oil gets old before I wear it out and if it looks good I don't change it. At 2000 miles after an oil change I swear you can still read through it. So I'm not using any oil yet or any measurable amounts of it. I should hit 100,000 miles about 2013 a.d.

The 4th line is the level where the liquid is when the jug is full. The lines equate to "quantity remaining" if measured from top to bottom....3,2,1,..ect..
When you pour down to the "3" line you just put in one quart.
Looks like everybody beat me to the punch on the 4 quart jug....Guess I should have gotten off work earlier..gottten online and read them all before I
