89 7.3 injector return line routing

I am in the process of ordering a banks sidewinder turbo system, can't wait! I read somewhere the other day that once the turbo is installed to change the routing of my fuel return lines on the injectors, does anyone know anything about this, whats the pros & cons of changing them?

Its good to change them, its a must if any are leaking or replacing injectors , changing the routing for the turbo is not a big deal, with no turbo the left and right side are connected with a line that is routed under the gp controler. with a turbo the lines are connected at the frount of the engine. if you are getting a new turbo it should have new lines for the rerouting along with the relocating of the gp controler and cdr valve

also now would be a good time to replace your injectors if you have alot of miles on them

thanks

Yes I'm replacing the injectors first, truck has 230k, thinking of using stage 1 injectors, is there a better injection pump to use with the stage 1 and turbo installed, or just adjust the existing one?

I have some diesel experience but by no means a pro. I plan on pulling a 30-40' 5th wheel travel trailer. Truck is a 4x4 5 spd.

quality1const,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI forum.

The reason for changing the return line routing is to keep the lines away from the heat at the turbo.

A turbo IP would work better with either stock turbo injectors or the Stage 1 injectors.
The turbo IP has a different fueling and timing advance curves to take advantage of the extra air the turbo gives you.
