Towing capacity
Is it possible to increase the towing capacity of my 01 Ranger to tow 7,000 lbs? Right now it's rated at 5,000. It's a 4x4 edge extended cab 4.0 OHC, auto, flare side. Any advice would be great.

7,000 lbs is too much to safely tow with a Ranger.
Your brakes, suspension, and axle are all too weak for that much weight.
If you just want to drag the trailer around the yard, drop it in 4-low and go for it. Otherwise, get a bigger truck.
