squeak squeel...shift

I hope its not the transmission, but when I am hard into the gas and it shifts it squeaks almost like a belt slip...but its only when it shifts so im worried its the trans. 130,000km only on the damn thing...what do yall think?

It's probably the belt slipping.

But its only at the down shift, dont get me wrong I hope your right. Does the 5.4L have the power to spin the belt like that? On second thought it does loose power when it squeaks...so yeah the belt could be it.

Yes, they often squeal the belt at WOT shifts or when there is a fast change in RPM. Quite normal.

I think the belt is past due. I would change the factory belt and use a gatorback belt to elminate the sound.

change the belt tensioner when you change the belt, I have found this cures the WOT chirp on the used trucks i work on

You know, my truck had that whine right before shifting. I put a gatorback on it and the whine was still there.
I did a bunch on minor crap to it and the other day I noticed the whine was gone. Not sure when it stopped. The most recent thing I did was seafoam it. No idea...
