I recently installed an aftermarket overhead dvd player for my kids. I grounded the unit to the floor of the truck using an aluminum self tapping screw. The positive was wire into the radio fuse.
I noticed since that when I get out of my truck and touch the door handle which has chrome on it I get a light static shock. This happens either way if I use the dvd player or not. If I do not use the player it still lights up but does not turn on. I did not connect the lights to the dvd player b/s I have two dome lights from the factory still working.
