BedLiner and sheetrock

I've got a 05 ranger with the 6' foot bed. Tomorrow I need to grab a few sheets of drywal (4x8) I think I have the right idea of how to put the 2x4's in the ford liner to raise the sheets above the wheel wells but if someone could point me to a guide or a picture of how its down in the ranger bed I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
NoahM

It might be necessary to pop out the bed liner. Refer to a section in the owners manual that shows how to cut and place two 2x6 x54 1/2" or so across the inside of the bed into the recessed pockets. That makes the plywood/sheet rock lay just above the wheel wells.

I've done it in the GMC with the bed liner still in place without any problems.

I used 2x6"s as well...one up front, one in the rear.

i carry drywall all the time and just lay it on top of the tailgate and let the bottom fall into the front of the bed by the cab of the truck. You can throw a couple of 2X4s down if youre worried about supporting the sheetrock. I carry 8 or 9 bundles of 1/2 inch sheetrock at a time that way

I've done the same thing. With flimsy or fragile materials I always throw some sort of lumber in the back to support the sheets. People always look at me funny when I carry a piece of plywood out of the shop and tell them I'm going to pick up plexiglass or something similar. But they understand when I pull up to the dock to unload.
