Hey guys Im kinda stranded right now so any quick help[ would be great. I have a 99.5 F250 with a 6 speed. I went to turn into my friends house and the clutch pedal stuck to the floor. I pulled it out and the clutch engaged but when i pushed it back in the clutch didnt disengage. any ideas??? thanks
Since no won has spoke up I'll try If your 6 speed has a slave cylinder look for leaks around thr dust boot an check to see if the shaft came out of the clutch fork.I hope this is a start ,,,,If nothing ilse its a bump to the top
I don't know were the heavy hitters are but they could give you some more advice. There are some people here that have zf6's an know a whole lot more than me''good luck.
There are several possibilities. Unfortunately most involve pulling the transmission. I had a similar problem on one of our work trucks (99 250) and it turned out to be bent fingers on the pressure plate. If you're going through all that trouble I'd replace the throw out bearing while its apart. The clutch disc is expensive so that's your call. Check to make sure the fork is not bent, and if its the original rear main seal, they're pretty cheap once the transmission is out of the way.
I have a 2000 zf 6spd in my older truck and one thing to check/replace before pulling out the tranny is the spagetti hydraulic system. The newer model comes all complete from ford to minimize air in the system. If I remember the slave is only a quarterturn to remove from the tranny. Hope this helps a bit.
I'd say your clutch master cyl is bypassing internally. Happened to me 3 weeks ago. sitting in a campground with foot on clutch getting ready to disconnect the trailer and the clutch just slowly engaged. foot still on floor! pedal stayed on floor. pulled it up and pumped it a few times and it worked twice then no more. Change the master and all will be ok Barney
