Hey, I changed the spark plugs in my bronco, Yea there Really White! Running rich rite? I also noticed some blue smoke when i would start it up and she starts hard sometimes also. Is my timing off? Whats going on! I also noticed its really doggy but i think thats because my cats are clogged. Has anyone had this problem? Its a 95 with a 351
right...you have a newer bronco with diagnostic help. the $ spent getting it diagnosed will be given back in fuel savings and time fiddling with this and that etc.
It's a good thing if all the plugs are similar as then it's more likely 'software' (timing and fuel related) vs 'hardware' (worn rings in a couple of cylinders, valves, worn block etc). But then what to do?
On the downside working on a newer rig is more complicated. You can fiddle with this and that or bite off a bigger chunk by getting a diagnostic workup then deciding what you want to do and when.
Also...get the book...ie chilton etc...it's not a great resourse but it's a decent one for most things.
white plugs means your running lean. this is not good as it can burn up a valve or piston fast. this usually comes from vacum leaks or not enough fuel. I would also check fuel pressure at the rail and replace the fuel filter. check timing should be at 10*btdc with spout connector removed. and pull codes before you start replacing any sensors.

Gack, You are absolutely right on half of the equation.
Mikey, If you have the time and inclination do both...try and if it isn't a simple fix go to a pro. To me it depends on what the rig is...vital and family or secondary for weekends etc. You have enough rigs it looks like...for an army of ford muscle. With luck the code will lead you to a simple fix.
thankyou all for your help. I put the truck on the genisys not to long ago and it had no codes. I also have a ABS light on and i hooked it to see whats wrong with that and still no codes. This truck does not talk back to me at all! I think im going to have to take it in.
