Towing Vibrations
Last week, I hauled a tractor on a flat bed trailer with my 2000, F350, SC, V-10. Total weight was a little over 6000lbs. I've used this trailer many times...hauling cars, tractors, etc. On this particular trip from south of Nashville, TN to Columbus, Ohio - I noticed a vibration similar to a wheel out-of-balance when pulling between 65 and 71mph. It would actually visably shake the empty passenger seat. Once above 71mph, or below 65mph, nothing noted. I thought maybe it was the tranny, so on a few occasions I would slip the tranny into nuetral with no change in vibration. Unloaded, the truck does not present the vibration.
Anyone have any ideas about this? Harmonics?
