Motorcraft carb ID

Ok I've got a 79 f100 with a 351W that the PO swapped into it.

The carb is leaking fuel from the front (accell pump?) I know the gasket around the top is bad because it was cracked when I fixed a leaky float 5 years ago.

My problem is I have no ID tag on it anymore (thank you PO). Would a generic rebuild kit help w/ this problem or am I in need of parts not included in those kits?

I wish I knew more about the engine but I'm unable to find any codes on the valve covers either...

Thanks in advance for any advice (and for your patience) I am pretty new to working on carbs, at least these kind. (I've done several motorcycle carb rebuilds)

Post the numbers from the carb and I'll get you a rebuild kit number although it is probably going to be Motorcraft # CT-1077D.

No numbers ?

Post a picture in your gallery.

Most all the carb re-build kits that you get from auto parts stores are generic anyway...just tell them 2bbl or 4bbl make, model, year, and engine..they should be able to find it from there.

Thanks Mil1ion, and 73f350sc!
I will try and post some pics in my gallery or off my website as soon as I get a chance.
I did buy A rebuild kit for a motorcraft D7UEAPA... thats on my van. It is also a 351W 2bbl and yes I do believe CT-1077D was the number. So that might work on my carb that has no ID tag too? I was wondering just how generic these are. I guess I will find out soon. This will be my first rebuild on a ford carb any tips or tricks I should know? (other than take my time)

Thanks again!

Some of the motorcraft 2bbl carbs have different mounting gaskets.
Make sure to match the gasket to the carburator kit prior to opening.
Once the kit is opened and seal broken, there is no return policy.

Here a link that might help..

Thanks again!
I have one listing that involves over 100 different carb numbers.

Usually a 2150 Carb is the CT-1077D Kit

most kits work. just match up what you take off. they usually include a few extra gaskets you will not use. if its a 2 barrel, they are very easy to rebuild.
