I think he's talking about ducting cold air or air other air than what's in his engine bay or compartment to his Air filter/ cleaner ***'y. Not the enhanced forced Air Induction a Supercharger or Turbo Offers.
And if I'm correct on that presumption, my answer is Aluminum Dryer duct tube that can be bought in a hardware store, with a little shade tree engineering and creative routing is what I use & it works well for me.

i seen wehre a guy ran cold air from his a/c, and it looked good, but i wonder if it's worth the extra load of havin' to run the a/c, and the restriction/water from the evap.
I found a twin snorkle air cleaner from an '85 Mustang 5.0 at the boneyard and with a spacer it was a perfect fit. Easy to then run twin dryer duct hoses on each side from the grille just as FBp said.
Later model truck air filters had the cold air intake setup on them. No reason to have to run ugly dryer duct either. The OEM style air intake duct can be purchased at auto parts stores.
Also dryer ducts can not & will not burn, rot, rip, or wear out. They can be clamped in place without chaffing their fabric, allowing hot engine bay air to infitrate the holes. Plus they are cheaper and more readily available besides being more durable.
FWIW I don't think my cold air ducting is ugly at all. Especially to people who have no idea what it looks like in the first place, but what do I know about anything?
I put one on my 71. It was from a later model ford truck (forgot the year) and looks like it should be there. picks up the air from just under the battery via a plastic peice. used the same air cleaner.
"i am not smarter than a %th grader!' After reading, I had to ask this question. We are talking about Cold Air Intake for Fuel injection, Right? Or is it possible to use the same idea for carbs?
dgasset yes you can do the same for carbs you just have to enclose the air cleaner in order for it to work. you can even run a turbo of a supercharger on a carbed motor as long as you enclose the carb and completly rejet it.
