So i was informed today that my boss' 2002 truck has been having some issues. Yesterday (monday) i took it to a shop to get aligned, they called and said the guages dont work, and neither does the pedal. so i talked to my boss, and he says "oh yea, if your coasting forward, even the slightest bit, and put it in reverse, it blows the fuse for the cluster." So i told the alignment shop (which really apparently only does alignments) to check the fuse, they call back, said they replaced the fuse, this time it didnt blow, but the cluster still doesnt work, and neither does the pedal. This time i drive over there, check all fuses, and also noted that the battery voltage is at 12.0 volts, while the truck is running. So the alternator isnt working either. I used my evo to pull any codes, and it said accellerator pedal code. So i have one of those on order, but i cant hardly imagine that the pedal is going to fix the gauges and the no charging condition. Im now kickin myself for not checking the field for voltage, to see if its simply a coincidense. Any ideas? Like i said, the truck will start, and idle, but the gauges, and pedal do not function, but the fuses are ALL good.

 

sounds like a bad wire some place..
