I have a 2003 f350 6.0L with 37k on it and the battery light keeps comming on and off. I assumed the alternator was bad so I ended up changing that, but it didn't solve anything. The light still flashes on and off like it did with the old one. I have the 110 amp alternator. Any ideas on what to check?
You Probably need new batteries! Make sure you replace both of them or you will have nothing but problems. If they are not both brand new they will drain each other!
I have an 04 and use the voltage meter function on my Bully Dog monitor. Stays right at 13.2. The battery light flashes occaisionally mostly when going down hill (go figure) I've checked everything and found no problems or codes. It's hard for me to think the batteries would be bad or going bad in such a short time. I'm an electrician by trade and disliked the truck did not have meter. I have had problems with corosion and advise everyone to look under those plastic boots. Good Luck
Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your opinion on the 6.0 vs the 7.3. I see that you drive a 1993 F150... Have you ever owned a 7.3?? I have. I had two of them, and in my opinion they didn't hold a candle to my 6.0. Both of them were broken more often and far less of a powerhouse than my '03 6.0. Everything breaks, and everyone that has broken stuff makes noise about it. For the most part, it's the NOISE that builds a conception of the bad rap, and I agree with you on that.
