Just Noticed part2

A buddy stopped by today to check out my new truck and we were standing there with the drivers door open talking. I was about 4 to 5 ft back from the truck standing even with the rear passenger door and briefly looked into the truck while we were talking and saw what appeared to be bubble wrap on the floor up under the pedals. After he left I got to looking at it and well it appears im missing half my carpet and what is showing is the padding.

So either this is ford cutting corners again or the carpet got cut short or theres suppose to be another piece in there. Anybody know whats up with the short carpet???

Thanks

I really hate obtuse answer posts. This forum is here to answer questions, and when an elder user who has 500+ posts posts a question it should get an honest answer. With 500+ posts I'll bet that person has answered many a question and contributed positively.

So, to answer the question: I have no answer. I noticed the same thing on my '06. Looks like Ford trying to save some coin on carpet.

Thumbs up

Simmer down fellas. Wasn't trying to be an a$$. It's just with so many things to worry about, is something you would have never noticed except by chance really worth making a big deal about?Oh yeah, I just noticed on my STX that my vinyl flooring isn't completely all the way under my pedals. You think Ford trying to cut corners? That answer is.... of course they are.

Well I dont feel Elder and I dont have gray hair (yet). Thanks bridge for the response.. Just wanted to make sure there wasnt suppose to be a patch piece of carpet or something that goes in there. My past vehicles always had carpet that went way up under the pedals and just wasnt sure thats the way it was suppose to be. Thought it was odd seeing carpet padding but no carpet.

Well I probably would have noticed it eventually, and like I said above, all my other vehicles that i have ever owned always had carpet that went way up under the pedals so I found it odd.... Sorry you wasted your time responding to something that we should expect whether its carpet or vinyl on a 30 or 40 thousand dollar vehicle.. No wonder we are losing to the imports.
I wonder how many F150 vehicles ford has to do that to, to save enough carpet to carpet one more F150 truck. Crazy......

As far as trucks go I believe Ford is still number one. Cars are a different story.
