Fuel System Question

I am troubleshooting my 2000 F250 and I am checking the fuel system now. When the key is on I can hear the pump run but not as loud as the trucks at work. I pulled the 1/8 pipe plug and it was dry. I then turned the key on and no fuel was present. I then had the truck started and no fuel. My question is how much pressure should I see at the rail.

You can check pressure at the fuel pressure port in the fuel bowl. Someone here should have a picture of where it is at. Good is above 50PSI all the time.

If you pulled that plug on the back of the fuel bowl, you should have fuel pouring out when you turn the key to the run position. If not, then your pump is gone.

This can be true. You may have an obstruction in the tank or lines too. The noise of the FP is not the best indicator, some are quieter than others. Another less messy way to check fuel flow is via the drain valve on the bowl to a container. The best way is via a gauge.
