Ken, I have a Chip Question

I have a 2002 F-250 XLT 2WD 4-Door V-10 (gas) with an automatic trans that I plan on lifting 4" and putting on either the 32.9” or 33.5" tires. It came with 31.6” tires on it with a 3.73 gear ratio. The truck is a daily driver and will be used to tow a 24' travel trailer that weighs about 4,500 dry.

I was told about using the Diablo Chip for the speedodemeter reading, HP and torque but I'm not sure what I need exactly, if anything.
I understand the Diablo requires 91 octane but can be custom programmed for 89 or 87. Considering what I plan on doing to the truck and what I'll be using the truck for (not to mention gas prices) what would you recommend for my needs?

The shop lifting my truck told me that I don’t need anything, but I want to make sure.

Thank You,
Brett

Ken, I have a Chip Question

Thanks for the reply Ken,

I have decide to go with the 32.9" tires so not a huge jump from the 31.6" tires it came with. Considering that, do you think it would be worth all the money to get a chip (especially one programmed for 87 octane)?

In other words how much of a difference would the chip make with a 4" suspension lift and 32.9" tires and do you feel it's worth the money?

Then again how much would I really be losing performance wise if I only had the speedo recalibrated by the dealer?

Sorry, I am a rookie with little money to spare so I don't want to waste it on something that isn't really necessary or something that doesn't make that much of a difference.

Thanks Again,

Brett
