Interesting how when the chevy blew and since they both were connected to the same radiator, it drained all the coolant. So with this in mind, the Ford ran without any coolant and probably would have gone a lot longer if it were not for the chevy dumping the radiator.
100% of the time the chevy was running, it was getting coolant.
75% of the time the Ford was running it was not getting coolant.

i don't know about that one, there are to many variables. now i'm not bashing ford but i owned a few chevrolet's and most were pretty tough. no one know's the size of them or where they came from. it was prolly wore slap out from the get go. i would like to see two fresh closely built motor go through the same thing just for fairness

One thing, I can't tell you how many Chevy's I've seen that blew like that one. My guess it broke the cam in half. Everyone I have seen blow like that broke it. I have never had a Ford leave me on the side of the road, NEVER. But I can't say that about Chevy or GMs. I use to drive old F600-F700 drill trucks across Nevada,in the 70s, that never got serviced except when they came to the shop ever few years. NOT ONCE did a Ford quit or leave me stuck. Some of these truck wouldn't go over 40 mph. 300 miles is a long ways at 40mph.
