upgrade starter
has anyone replaced an old type starter for the permanent magnet type starter found on 92s and up? is it a direct swap?
i would like to change my weak, crappy, heavy starter for the improved design

The newer truck use a high torque starter . Hate to say you have the better one . The newer ones have let me down more than all the monsters put together. And Can be rebuilt easily/cheap. My local shop will rebuild old for half price of a high t rebuild. AS for working on your flywheel I don't know look at gears and compare.
