I have the truck listed below with a computer code of AEO1. Is this a code you can do something with? If so, can you tell me the HP and Torque numbers I can expect? Can you eliminate the speed and rpm limiters on this code? Also, what is the price difference of the Delta and the Diablo? I am looking for the most for my money. I drive about 2000 miles a month and it is 75-80% interstate driving.
Hey man, it was Father's day weekend, no need to bump the thread. :-)
Yes, I can program for AEO1. Its 30 horsepower and 49 ft-lb torque. I have code with the limiters raised, not eliminated (its not a good idea to eliminate the REV limited because you can then rev it to the point of trashing the engine). The Delta is about $20 more.
Sorry about bumping the thread. I am just excited because the wife gave me permission to get a chip. I convinced her that the mileage would go up. My next question is will my computer need the jumpers soldered or is that something that I will have to find out when I install the chip?
Generally, its pretty hard to tell because more than one computer hardware type had the problem. Also, just because your truck may or may not have one of the common codes for the problem doesn't mean it won't happen to you. Its like throwing a dart with a blind-fold on. If you have one of those computers you'll get the anti-theft light flashing quickly.
