CAI complications

Hi,
If all I wanted was a CAI, what possible 'screw ups' could it cause to my truck?
All I want is a little more pep when I step on the gas... Would a CAI do it? Does brand matter?
Thanks guys...

don't waste your money buy a tuner. A CAI alone won't give you the pep your looking for.

Is there not a lot more potential for messing up my truck with a tuner? I know the line " you have to pay to play" but I don't want something that will run lean or whatever... I don't really know much about the mechanics....
Any help?

Yes intakes DO make power on these trucks. I would recommend the Volant intake, or the JLT if youre willing to use an SCT tune.

A tuner will give you much more power, and better drivability, I would do a tuner first but certainly look into the intake as well. We also sell packages with tuners, intakes, and cat back exhaust systems

you have a chance of messing up your truck when you change anything. If you read the directions you will have less of a chance of messing up you truck. You can also try doing a seach on tuners and gather info that way.

Don't expect much more then some intake noise from a CAI. You really won't notice much more power....lets say ~10hp....so your 300hp engine will MAYBE put out 310hp. You'll have to really beat on your truck to be able to say...I "think" it has more power?
I would recommend a programmer if you want more power (Edge, Hypertech, SCT, etc). Then maybe the CAI would help you out more....Don't forget about the exhaust =)

Volant CAI & Edge.......I'm very happy. My current milage is 18mpg city/highway. My dyno runs indicate 289 RWHP.
