Button help
I have a 05 FX4 and was wondering if anyone knows if the buttons that are not used between the a/c, recirculate, and rear defrost are able to be replaced so i could use the switches?

After looking at it again, I think you should be able to do this. But i have no idea how to remove the buttons. I have seen stuff like this done on other vehicles. Also the ohter fords i have owned all had built in spots to put toggle switches and things.

if you have a flow thru console, look in my gallery, i have some pics of where i mounted my cb and aux. light switch. you could do something like that. real easy, just involves removing the ashtray and making a panel out of black abs plastic.

got it. just thought it may be another way to do it. those are more permanent, so if you sell the truck they are going with or will have holes unless replaced. the other way allows you to reinstall the cupholder and have no holes etc...i like you idea though. i also think that those buttons are like a unit or module so i think you will have to take it apart to get wires in and out of it.
