aod transmissions
i've read a couple of remarks about the clunk to overdrive in the aod trannys. mine does it too. ive got a 90 f-150 5.0 and the fluid looks and smells ok, i just recently changed the filter, but it still clunks into overdrive. the other gears are relatively smoothe. its worse at around 35 mph when your letting the gas pedal off to slow down. how do you adjust the tv cable ive read about in this forum? thanks, joe.

Some times there is a little play between the clutch plates and the housing and when the clutches lock up they turn a fraction of an inch and make that "clunk" when the slack is taken up.
There are TSB's out about that problem.
A warranty issue if it's still covered.
