Will a T10 fit into a 240 with a 370 rear end?

 

The T-10 I installed had a narrower bolt pattern than the three speed did, but they were places cast in the bell housing for the same bolt pattern. I just had to mark them and drill and tap the holes. Also the rear mount lined up on one hole, but was to short to reach the other so I drilled and tapped that one also. Since the tailshaft is longer I had to have the driveshaft shortend. That only cost me about $90.00.

The only thing I wasn't happy about is that the cross memember should be a little lower due the height of the rear mount. I plan to take it back off and section it for about a two inch drop to line everything up straight.

One other thing you may want to do. They make a tapered slider for 2nd gear. I would put one in because T-10's are notorius for popping into neutral from 2nd when you brake with the transmission. That seems to be the only gear that ever does this and if you leave your hand on the shifter it will stay in. The tapered slider is supposed to be a fix.

There is a guy in Indiana, I believe it's M & L or L & M transmision that has a ton of parts for T-10's at reasonable prices. Most other places I tried thought they had the last such part in existance and charged accordingly. I can look up the guys name if you need it.
