Remove all the intake piping to the turbo, you will see the intake vanes of the turbo. There will be an outer ring this is the silencer ring, look it over to see if you can pull it out.

After I put my MBRP T back on with the MBRP muffler and cat delete pipe installed, I got a lot of turbine whistle. When I put the Jobe intake on, I got all the turbine whistle I can stand. When I'm at someplace like Lowes or Wally World and step on it, everybody turns and looks.

I took the intake tube off and was able to locate the silencer ring...it apears to be a insert because it is a seperate piece from the compressor housing...looks like you have to maybe remove the housing and take it out the back side. I will do some re-search to find out if that is possible.

Maybe this is a shot of the silencer?

i emailed 6L-pwr because he is doing the swap soon and i thought he could take the compressor housing off and see if the insert comes out the back side...because to me it looks to be a two piece design seperate from the housing like the cummins although simply removing the snap ring is not the case here. Taking the front of the turbo off doesnt look hard and some stuff would have to come out of the way to take it out. But its just a bunch of 12-point bolts i would take mine apart if i know it comes out. If 6l-pwr cant help i will e-mail garret about it.

Yes that surely is it...it has channels cut in it and is hollow inside so the sound gets trapped.
