I have a 2007 6.0 PSD and I just discovered that I have experienced a little coolant puking. The only performance mods I have are a turbo back exhaust and a SCT tuner (mild tunes only).
I would like to put more coolant back in the degas bottle as it is low now. I know what coolant is specified in the manual, I just wanted to know what the other 6.0 owners here use/recommend.
depending how low it is you can always add a little water. if your adding water make sure the truck is cool when you add water. you don't want to add cold water to a hot system. i've never put a lot of water but after my last flush at the dealer i came home and it was a little low. took it back and they put warm water in since the truck was warm. so as i understand it, you can add a little water if low. but i would assume that you should still have a mix of water and gold coolant.
Just becuase you have "mild tunes" from SCT does not mean anyhting. It depends on how they were written and by whom. I would call Long Island Perforance Diesel and talk with them (talking is free).
I would go back to stock and run for awhile and see if the puking stops. Puking is more common with trucks with tuners... so I suspect this maybe the cause depending on the "tune".
As far as coolant... fill to "MIN" and use Motorcraft Premium Gold (from dealer).
