I installed the BTS VB today and all went well. I got the bottom end all buttoned up and went up top to dump in the fluid. First 1/4 quart ended up on the ground, WTF.
Turns out, the dipstick tube is broke at the tab that is bolted to the trans.
I would like to know how much fluid is needed to get it close because of the way I have to fill it. I took a piece of 5/16" hose and snaked it down the tube past the bad spot and now it takes about 3 minutes for a quart to go in. I will be ordering a new dipstick tube Monday, which looks like another enjoyable job to install.
I feel your pain. When I installed my 4", I broke the chicken S welds that hold the tube to the bracket (which is bolted to Head, not trans). I would add tranny fluid and end up with a puddle on the floor (not as bad as yours). Couple of weeks ago, while doing turbo work, I pulled the tube off and welded it up.
