So today I had an experienced guy install my front and rear glass. The Front glass went smoothly....Stainless went in easily and the new rubber seal worked ok too. The Big Window install was not good.....As he was installing the rubber onto the glass he immediately says that the Rubber Seal (from Mid-Fifty) was a little small and it would not stay on the glass very well. The Stainless was just impossible to install into the rubber. He went ahead and installed the glass into the truck and then tried to install the Stainless to no avail. The Rubber seal does not hug the side pillars very well at all. Not acceptable.
Is this a common problem? Would a Dennis Carpenter Rubber seal be better? The installer also said to leave it out in the sun and it should stretch for better fitment and that the Stainless then might go in.....I can't really see that. Help.
