mine did that every once in a while. Turned out to be the OD switch on the dash. the switch was worn out and when I hit a bump or vibration would cause it to turn on and off. Scared the hell outta me - turned out to be a $4 fix.

First of all how many miles do you have on the transmission, and how long has it been since you changed the fluid. Also it will help to know the year of the truck. When it shifts out does it appear to do it for no reason or does it do it because it is starting to baug?

The truck is a 1995 F-150 with 103,000 miles on it.I change the fluid and filter every 20,000 miles.It shifts out for no reason but only occasionally.I can be going a steady 50 to 60 mph when it happens.Like I said it is not a constant thing.
