Wednesday, I was at the Biltomre, in Asheville, NC. First of all, the joint is awesome. When I got to the ticket gate, I noticed that they were setting up a huge event. I checked it out and found out that they were having an event for a few days for BMW motorcycles. There were hundreds of pop up tents and campsites set up. I know it would be pricey, but it would be a phenominal location for those of us in the southeast and mid atlantic region. It would be also a place to take our families. The have acres for camping and for those of us who do not camp, they have a nice hotel on the grounds. The staff was setting up a HUGE tent to the east of the biggest home in America. It would be a perfect match.
I bet we might evern get some of the suits from Ford down for that!
I'm in ATL & we have property 20 miles west of Ashville. the Biltmore is over the top(hotel/resort) I've stayed there before! I'm game....lets do it in August when it's 150 in ATL its 72 in Ashville
First of all, can you get the "Marietta Diner" to cater in Ashville ?
I would love to do it as an escape from a hurricane, but the thought of driving 10 hours and then working for 7 days cleaning up is a pain. I have no idea what it would take as far a commitment wise, but like Thanksgiving or Labor day would be great. However, we cannot cut into football season.
I'm serious. I was very impresses by what the Biltmore was doing to get ready for the events. We could probably get somebody named Ford to come and be an MC or something.
lets have it in yosemite, now that would be cool, group pic at isperation piont overlooking the valley floor, with el capitan and halfdome in the background.
big trees , big rocks, and big waterfalls, and a big drive from valley floor just a hair under 3000' to top of tioga rd wich is 9,000'+ a very cool road. only place i know where i can go from 100* heat to snow and back to 100* heat.
