body removal question

Down the road sometime id like to take the body of and have it fixed up and painted. It is easier to pull the body off with the engine still in it? Or would it be better to pull the engine out first. Id like to leave the engine in it, pull the body and take it to the body shop while I do my thing to the frame and drivetrain.

You can leave the entire drivetrain in place when you pull the tub. Just have to disconnect everything between the frame and the body. And also remove things like the transfer case shift that protrude through the body

Remove the doors, fenders, grille, hood, tailgate, and anything else that is attached to the body. You need to build some supports to go between the front and rear door posts as the tub will try to collapse when you lift it.
