1998 EXPLORER 5.0 CHIP

I just bought a 1998 Explorer (EB) w/ the 5.0L engine, I am thinking of making the following modifications; E&B, throttle body spacer, and a 70mm mass air sensor. I have also considered a slightly larger exhaust, thought i wish to limit the sound level in the cab. But if I only replace the the air box, mass air sensor, and add a throttle body spacer, WHICH CHIP IS RIGHT FOR THAT SET UP? I am confused by the overload of info i have found PLEASE HELP!!

Chad

In simple terms...

My experience has been that the Superchips tends to do better with the 5.0L Explorers than the Diablo in stock applications. For custom code both do very well. However, you will have to consider the custom programming fees to work with the MAS and the Diablo is much less money for custom code. If you're in California CARB certification is an issue and Superchips is the only of the two that is certified.

Either way, you'll be happy with the results.
