Event Recorder
Is this true? Can this recorder tell whether you have an aftermarket chip in and other mods. I have a 2000 V10 Excursion.
I've heard rumors about guys being denied repairs on their rigs because the Computor told the tech that the chip and other items had been tampered with, rev limitor, tranny shift points etc.
I think this is new for 2003 because it is not in my "2002 F350 Owners Manual" PDF file.
Here it is:
(page 5-6 of the 2003 F-250/350/450/550 Owner's Guide)-
"Event Data Recorder--

- information about the performance of various systems and modules in the vehicle, and
- information related to engine, throttle, steering, brake or other system status potentially including information related to how the driver operates the vehicle including but not limited to vehicle speed.
This information may be stored during regular operation or in a crash or near crash event. This stored information may be read out and used by:

There you go! Big brother is watching you.....
