I recently accuired a 2000 ranger ex.cab after mother in laws death. I have no manuel for truck as of yet, truck runs great and i did change oil and cleaned air filter, any other maintenence you all think needs to be done now?.Ranger is 2000,3.0 engine, auto tranny,48000 mi.Thanks,
Not to worry, a 3.0 won't go fast enough to wear anything out hee hee. "Sorry", I just couldn't resist. Seriously, sounds like your on the right track, may wanna throw in a new fuel filter as well. What tranny do you have, either way, you may want to have a fluid change be it manual or auto. I'm sure some of the 3.0 boy's will have some other idea's.
Change trans fluid and fuel filter, be sure ps fluid and brake fluid are topped off, look at the antifreeze and possibly change that if it looks sick. Check over all the belts, hoses, brakes, etc. to be sure all are well.
Welcome to FTE. You'll find the guys here very helpful with anything about your truck.
You've got a good truck, with low miles......it will last you a long time. I would pull the wheels and check the brakes, likely still original equipment and may be due for pads and shoes. With those low miles, likely been sitting some and rotors and drums may be pitted.
You may also want to check about lubricating the driveshaft slip yoke. There is a posting in the tech info section that contains the TSB. You may want to check with the dealer or where service was performed and retrieve all records of prior maintenance just to have in your files. The dealer would know if the TSB was performed.
