towing mirrors install....
Hey whats going on guys.... so dispite the bad mood im in right now, im really happy with my truck. It's sick!! But anyways, i was at a concert the other night and came out to see that my truck got side swept... yah i know, you dont even have to say anything, it sucks and i was pissed. The damage isnt that bad though.... i got to replace my driver side towing mirror, and my driver side fender and let me tell you... these mirrors are not CHEAP! I went to the dealer and found out prices, the mirror is $560.00 due to you have to buy the whole mirror with the motor in it and stuff bc they dont sell it in pieces. The fender was only a $160.00 (i thought that was pretty cheap, i was expecting more.) Anyways im going to be installing the mirror myself and then letting the dealers body shop take care of my fender and paint. Does anybody know how they mirrors come off and install, or know of any directions from a website or pictures or something? I dont think it should be that hard... If so i'de appreciate some info. Thanks in advance...

99-07 have a small black panel piece that just pops off, there are also rubber gromet covers that will reveal the 3-4 nuts that hold the mirror on. The wiring disconnects via a plug, I do not believe you have to remove the whole door panel, but the 08 maybe different.

I believe I had to pull the whole panel because of the wiring. I may be wrong, my parents are scanning the pictures that came with the mirrors and sending them to me. No instructions I guess just pictures but my mom siad there were 8 pages of pictures. I bought a pair of mirrors and only used one of them but must have lost the page with the worded instructions, those told you what tools were needed as well.
