I have a 2005 F-250 SD SWB CC Lariat 4X4 with a 5.4 gas engine. Does anyone make a larger gas tank to replace the 29 gal. original tank. I'd like to be able to carry more fuel and I have a bed cap so a tank in the bed won't work.
First off welcome to FTE lots of good people and info around here.
Transferflow makes a 46 gallon replacement. And they are one of only a very few manufactures that makes tanks that meet all Government and CARB regulations.
Must be only on the 250s then. My 04 150 has a 38 gallon tank. I thought it was only available on the S-Cabs and CCs?
On F250/F350 SD the Short bed trucks are available with a 29gallon tank from the factory and the Long bed trucks are available with a 38 gallon tank. An F150 is a totally different chassis than a SD.
Recently installed a transfer flow 46ga replacement tank in my 2005. That is a very good kit and a very well made tank. I definitely recommend them even if they do cost $1000. Install took me and a buddy about 3 hours.
