Isn't there a hole in the intake manifold for the tube? All FE engines used bypass hoses from 1958 thru 1976.
The same FE waterpump was used on cars and trucks, from 1965 thru 1976 = D4TZ-8501-H
The same 5/8" metal tube (cut to fit) was used 65/76 in the above waterpumps = C5AZ-8555-A

not sure i believe during the rebuil we blocked all unnecessary holes but i dont remember having one. ok is it better to have it or can i just unscrew it and block it off with a screw plug

No, it's needed. All the pumps have a similar tube. When everything is bolted up, all you see is the rubber heater hose...about an inch or so. The tubes are covered over by the hose, and two clamps.
The bypass hose is straight 5/8" hose. Parts catalog says: Cut to fit from bulk 5/8" heater hose. There are curved molded bypass hoses, but not on FE engines.

I wouldn't bid on that boat anchor, he's low balled the shipping weight by a good 30 lbs. 65 lbs ain't EVEN close. 85 for a bare FE iron lowriser intake, add another 15 lbs for the carb. 10-15 lbs for the packing material.
well **** guys tell me overally should i pay? taking that i got it for 61 dollars? shipping at either 65 or 85 lbs? quotes from some for the 65 at 39 dollars help me out tell me what to do
I look at it this way, if you bid on it you bought it. Even if you don't use it in the end it is a training aid in two ways. 1 Don't bid unless you know what your looking at. 2 The cast iron is pretty much the same as those on a head so you can use it to pratice port work on.
Also that's a 64 intake and a lowriser. What kind of heads are you using? If your running C8/68 or later heads there will be a intake port mismatch. If you have 67 or earlier heads you'll be ok. Even with the port mismatch it'll run fine but it is not the best combination for performance. Not a bad deal with the carb. Shipping could be the breaker.
ok guys shipping was the breaker. he set shipping at 109.99. with that and not knowing if it will match up perfect it was done thanks guys for helping this novice...lol i will be more cautious next time. now help on my thread in 73-79...mud boggs
