She is very docile around us... and is very shy around newcomers. The Lab gets her into more trouble than anything as he leads her off onto others property. Since then we have locked them both up to wander the pasture and inside the house. I don't see her attacking anyone, but again she is a puppy still. She will outgrow the lab so we constantly put her in place and maintain the hierarchy. The Lab and her are best buddies. It would be sad to have to get rid of her eventually as she really is a sweet canine and my Lab would be heartbroken. Time will tell I guess.

G'luck, a couple more years will tell. Here's one of the many hybrid and fullwolf owners' sites on the net; this one is written so us normal people enjoy it.

Several very readable books are out, Donna and Carol (the county AC officer) found and loaned them to me for reading a few years ago. I can track them down for the names/authors for checking at the library if you want?

Yeah... that would be great. I hear more bad stories than good. I just don't see it from this wolf yet. She mimmicks everything the lab does and starts to act more like him every day but she is still very much wolf.

Everything learns from their elders....We had a wolf that Dad got as a pup at Pendleton...She was a lot more tame than some of the hyper-active poodles I have seen...Damn I can't stand rat dogs!

Eck!! I hear they make a good stew... the meats to tough for a good steak. Maybe barbecue over an open fire? Perhaps I should post in "Whats for dinner".

Her maturing traits will start to show at ~2yo, a hybrids maturity is at ~5yo. I'm hoping for the best...here's two good books, plus the web has a wealth of owners' forums and author's blog-type postings.

I've been reading a lot on the hybrids after you posted. She has all the traits except... the postings usually characterize more male trait than female. I think I am gonna get a few books. She is starting the trait of eating everything. Furniture, window blinds, shoes- whatever. I give her raw meat sometimes for her proper diet. She practically swallows a pound of meat whole and wants more.

She really is a good pet (don't really consider most of them pets but their own social entities). She doesn't listen but that's in her nature I guess. She was licking my face the other night. She is starting to play a bit with us. Unlike a dog she still doesn't come when called. The only time she is ever close to being aggressive is when it comes to meat. But hey, if that's bad then I need to be put down too, lol.
