Rough Country offers a leveling spacer for $ 129 which lifts your truck 2.5 inches and we have just got a 6 inch prototype kit on a truck as well.

The leveling kits gives you a 2.5" lift and great bang for the buck. Are you prepared to go from 2.5 to 6" for roughly $2000 more? You can fit 35's and I would reccommend the Edge Evolution. The pod looks excellent, very good support from edge and it allows you to control numerous functions including changing the tire size. As for rims, decide if you want the tire and rim sticking outside the wheel well and if you are traveling on gravel you will need flares to protect the sides and then they should be painted etc etc. The leveling kit, 17x33 Mickey Thompson's and the flares make a great value combination. Check out our site and compare the Mojave (level kit), FX6 (6 inch) and Baja (level kit, factory rims and no flares)

Those are for installed kits... do you do anything on kits not installed?

Leveling kit: Autosprings 2.5" lets you fit certain 35" tires

Lift Kit: RIZE 8" kit allows up to a 38" tire. you can fit 40" tires with the 8" and stacking a 2.5" AS ontop in the front and a 3" add-a-leaf in the rear

RIMS: Moto Metal 950 series 20x10 rims

Tires: Toyo Open Country M/T 35x12.5x20

a pretty good amount of people have the rim/tire combo and use the 2.5" spacer. The F-150 looks pretty darn good IMO with that combo. The 8" lift and 38" tires looks even better, but it's hard on the IFS front end.

EDGE Evolution for everyday performance, and a SCT X-Calibrator II for the max performance. Alot of guys swear by Bama Chips tuning.

with the 2.5 you can stuff 35's under our trucks? Or is that only FX4 guys? What about 2 leveling how big can we go then? minus the 305/65/18 that are goldy expensive

any 4x4 will fit 35" tires with a 2.5" leveling kit. the size to prevent most rubbing issues is 35x12.5x20...I haven't seen them on a 18 or 17 rim yet. You will have to trim the fender skirt, but most people report that they only rub on full turn

I'd stick with a 34" or smaller tire if you're getting the 2". You can probably fit the 35" also, but there is more rubbing risk

FYI: the FX4 is the same as the 4x4, it just has better shocks, but they sit the same hieght. The 4x2 has different shocks, so it's front end sit 1" lower than the 4x4

The only difference between the fx4 and 4x4 mechanically is the shocks?

Unless you add them (option) to the regular 4x4, the FX4 also comes with the skid plates standard.

Like VFM_Man said, the shocks are the same, they only put stickers on them, and FX4s come with skid plates.

As for mods, depending on use, and how much money could be used, but either X-Calibrator II or EDGE Evolution or Bama Chips.
A volant intake
Dual exhaust with a DIDO Magnaflow, and remove the 2 rear cats.

A 2.5" Leveling kit if money is a problem(If you can't justify spending $2K on a 6" lift).
Some 17" wheels! 20s cost to much, and tire prices are unbelieveable for 20s, but for 17s they're ok.
A 34 or 35" super swamper(or tire of your choice, but I love swampers.

Here's a few pics on a 04 w/ leveling kit and new rubber:

If the lariat comes with 18" wheels stock can you downsize to 17" wheels? tires are cheaper for 17's than my 18s

edge evelution 440
afe cold air 295
toyo mud terains 1250
borla exhaust already on truck when i baught it.

all together i think i get around 13mpg every day driving.

i would like to get a full throttle lift
some 38s
and run 4.56s i think i t should do fine. but with the toyos i have i think i have about two years to save up lol for the lift before the tires wear out.
