You guys are lucky.

My door chime was disabled, but it also disabled my lights on chime. So, I leave my lights on all the time. =(

And then i screwed up my drivers side door switch for the light, so i had to unplug it.

Useing a tape measure to keep the door open isn't a good idea. It pushed the switch in and bent the metal in, so the switch wont connect when the door closes. =(
It really sucks, Cause my drivers side door lock dosnt' work, and i'll turn on the dome light at night, and lock the truck up, and forget to turn off the dome, so i gotta go through the passenger side unlock routiene.

The key-in-ignition chime and light chime are one in the same, so of course if you don't have one then you won't have the other.

As for the door switch, can't it be replaced or is it jammed in there too bad?

did not see this in any post that i recall.
get a pait of pliers and pull the plunger.
never have to worry about dome light and will still ding if you pull key and leave lights on, but no ding with key in ignition. if you resell truck just push plunger back in and all is well

I always disable the "key in" warning (buzzer in my truck, dinger in my Thunderbird) but leave the headlight warning intact, for the same reason as lostin90's - I like to be reminded that I forgot to turn my lights off. I wouldn't mind it even if it had a timer, but no, the damned things go off for as long as the door's open. I like to listen to the stereo when I work on a vehicle, and this usually requires having the door open, so the noisy ******* gets disconnected.

To disable just the key reminder pop the lower column cover off and look for a grey plug with one black/pink stripe wire in it. Unplug it and you're done - no more "key in" but the headlight warning will still work normally.
