Oil leak

I remember a post sometime back that someone mentioned a leak on the backside of the motor. I have fixed my upper galley leaks, Dipstick tube leak, and now it appears that I have some leaking from somewhere else. Is there any way that it could be a rear-main, at 125,000 miles? I seem to recall someone talking about some o-rings elsewhere that could be the cause. Any ideas would be helpful here. Mike

Rear mains rarely leak on these. One the back of each head there are large plugs in the end on the HPOP galley. They ahve a 1/2 square drive in them. They are about $5 for the updated plug adn o-ring from ford. That could be your issue. Others could be vavle covers, CCV housing, or another leak in the valley.

oh yeah those plugs are also on the front of the heads. They are about 2 inches across.

Looks as though I have oil in the rear valley underneath the turbo pedestal. It is leaking down the bellhousing to the underside. Do I need to replace the pedestal o-rings?

if its only wet at the rear of the valley could be fuel pump, turbo pedestal o-rings or ebpv actuator.

Thanks Tim. I am thinking it is the Pedestal thats leaking. It is way back, behind the turbo on the passenger side corner of the pedestal. I checked the ebpv and it does not appear to be the culprit.

Has anyone changed the oil intake gasket and outlet gasket on their turbo? I think that is my problem. I dont think I need to rebuild the turbo, just replace all the gaskets the seal it to the accessories.

Are you saying that there are two o-rings doubled up on the the two rear pedestal mounts?

yes there are two o-rings that seal the pedestal to the block then two that seal the turbo to the pedestal.

Check your dust cover

I had my dust cover wear a nice hole in my pan and started to wear one on the other side as well. Around the crank.
