disc brake issues

Hi all, I've got a 72 f250 4x4 w/what I believe to be a 77-79 f250 Dana 44HD front end. (that is what it matches @ Mr N's dana 44 id page). It has the hd locking hubs, open knuckles, and disc brakes.
My problem is I need a new rotor. When I look it up everything that comes back is either internally splined, or it's a 2 piece. Nothing matches. My local parts man is stumped. And he found me wheel bearings for the same axle less than a year ago! He scanned countless rotors up to I believe 85, and nothing... Anybody have any ideas??
Thanx, Ski.

Many of the illustrations of brake rotors (and most all mechanical and body features) are taken from Ford parts catalogs, and used in various publications by auto parts stores. The pictures can be generic...meaning they are to be used for part number info only. So the same rotors may be pictured over and over again.

The key in your question is: "I believe (it) to be a 77/79 F250 Dana 44HD front end." But you aren't sure, right? OK...Look at the axle housing to the right of the front cover, this is where Ford installed a 2 to 3 inch long, by 1/2 inch high rectangular metal plate bolted to the housing with two bolts. It also may be on the cover itself. On that plate is the axle ID information. It can be decoded as to year, and type. There are also stamped ID numbers on the axle tubes.

NOTE: Dana 44: From 1976 thru 1979, there are 13 different parts lists and 5 possible hub and rotors. It makes a difference because of free running hubs, serial numbers and axle weight capacity. Of these 5 different hub & rotors, two of the hub and rotors could be bought as individual pieces.

FWIW: Hub and rotors: C9TZ-1102-A; C9TZ-1102-C; D6TZ-1102-E; D8TZ-1102-A; E0TZ-1102-G. Rotor only less hub: D6TZ-1125-D; D6TZ-1125-G. Do you have any old bearings lying around? Post the industry numbers off of them. Maybe....by using the bearing numbers the correct rotors can be determined, or at the very least....whittled down a bit!

I appreciate the reply. Here are the bearing #'s, as well as the tag, stamp, and casting #'s from the diff. At one time, I had come across a site with a chart to positively id the diff. However, now I can't find it. I will keep looking.

BEARING #'S;
inner; Bower #368A,
outer; SKF# LM 501349

Diff #'S
cast# 44 6cf
tag# ED2 D6TA 610005 1R 4 09
stamp# 610005 1R

Thanx again...

Thanx again...
ED2D6TA-AAE / 610005-1R / 4.09-1 / FREE RUNNING / NON LIMITED SLIP / DANA 44 6CF / 3500 LB AXLE CAPACITY / PARTS LIST 30.5W

D6TZ-1102-E .. HUB & ROTOR ASSEMBLY

(D6TA = 1976 / axle used thru 1979)

Record this info...everything front axle and front brake related can by found through the parts list of 30.5W. All you need is the 1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog, and someone who gives a damn.

Go to hipoparts.com and buy a CD of this catalog...then you can be your own partsman. You can also buy a CD of the 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog.
