97 Expy gauge board failure

Wife's expy has 88K miles WHen started the dash display lights up but everything stays at "0", including the odometer. Fuzes OK. Dealer seemed to have never heard of this before. Any similar experiences out there?

Isn't there a diagnostic you can initiate to test out the dash controller ?
