Hello Ken.Your chip recommendation would be appreciated.I drive a '02 crew-cab v-10 4x4 with 4.30's and A.T.Truck is mostly used with little or no load, although on occasion it pulls my bobcat and trailer, combined about #7,500.And it pulls quite nicely i have added a open chamber muffler and will at some time add a intake mod,k@n,air raid, etc.Im running 285's currently but may bump up a bit after these tires are used up.I've read numerous posts about the diablo and the scmt,i currently run 85 or 87 octane with no problems.Do i understand correctly that the scmt MUST be used in conjunction with the 91 octane? If so,is there a mileage increase to offset the fuel cost difference?Do i understand that the diablo can compensate manually for different octane levels?Ive heard my share of chip horror stories and i want to get it right the first time.Which chip would you recommend given my situation? Thanks for your time.Farni.
First, yes.... you must run premium. No ands, ifs or buts. If you're planning on changing tire sizes the Microtuner is the way to go. There have been too many difficulties getting gearing/odometer right with the V10 chips but the tuner works great. Most people gain mileage, but I cannot guarantee it because it depends on how heavy your foot is!
If you plan on changing the tire size and then sticking with it, we can try a dual 87/91+ octane Diablo Delta but it depends on your ECU code.
