i snug one down in the middle and go over to the other side in the middle and work my way out going side to side.i just snug em down until they are all about the same then start over and take them down tight.i use the 1 pc gasket for the later 90's 460's and they have inserts for the bolts so you cant crush the gasket from over tightening.you do have to pick the inserts out of the gasket on the corner bolts that are a 5/16" and the gasket only has 1/4" inserts .
