'79 460 Questions
Hey all, I am wondering on how easy it is to add an electric fan to my '79 F150 2WD w/460 CID? Does it add quite a bit of HP as well as help your motor cool more efficiently? Any help would be great. Thanks.

An electric fan wont add alot of noticable seat of the pants power. It might cool it more but most don't see any real gains. The bennifiet comes from reduced engine to radiator distance for tight engine compartments. Your money would be better spent on a cooling additive like wetter H2O, lower thermostat opening temp, and a fan clutch. The clutch will allow the engine to speed up without dragging the fan with it. The fan will catch up a few seconds later to the new RPM. You might also want to consider a fan shroud as well to help channel the air flow through the fan if you don't have one.
