brake light

I hate to bring this up again, but the brake light is on in the dash. I looked through the previous posts and saw that the ebrake runs off this circuit, I looked all around the ebrake and cant find the connection or switch. Is this connection hidden somewhere or what?

Im pretty sure the brakes are fine because apperantly the light has been on for a while. I was taking off the panel around the gauge cluster and i found that the previous owner had covered the light with electrical tape

Read this thread. It's probabbly the proportioning switch in or around the master cylinder.

The switch on the ebrake is pretty well hidden. Look for a single purple wire that goes over the top of the ebrake bracket at about the mid-point. It has a small rubber boot on the end where it connects to the bracket...just pull the boot up and it will disconnect. It's true that the same warning light is also turned on by the pressure switch in the proportioning valve, but the ebrake switch failing is by far the more common, and simple problem. Rule that out first.
