My mirror got hit off my driver's side. I was looking to replace it. I dont have heated just electric. I was wondering if i was able to put powerfold mirrors.can these be interchanged? Also does anyone know how to replace them
I had to replace my drivers side as well - was hit by a semi while driving in rush hour traffic. I did not look into power folding, but I was shocked at how "affordable" the replacement was. I have a Lariat so it is power, heated, signal mirror so I was worried, but I bought it at the Ford dealer, installed with taxes for $250 (Canadian). I assumed it would be much, much more with the heated power signals and all. It was a pleasant surprise. Good luck.
yeah, get it from an online parts store. I think I paid around 100 shipped for one a few years ago, that's a heated power mirror with turn signal. and then I installed it myself.
To install the powerfold mirrors requires a bunch of extra wiring and relays, it's not a simple plug and play.
I guess I'll just get the same type replacement mirror. Do you think aftermarket would be pretty good. they are cheaper but they say you get what you pay for. is this the case with aftermarket mirror. Also can anyone direct me with a link on how to do it or is it a matter of taking off the door panel and unscrewing it from inside?
Once you get the door panel off, there is 3 studs from the mirror to the door interior from which you remove the nuts. Unplug the harness from the mirror, remove the nuts, and it's out. It may need to be wiggled a bit to get it out, but the 3 nuts are all the hold it mechanically.
For reference, the power, heated, dimming mirror for an '07 F150 Lariat is $380 list. I have the original from my truck in the classifieds for $250 w/ shipping.
I'm going to attempt the power folding mirror trick at some point, but it's not going to be a 15 min. thing by any means.
www.getfordparts.com, you can get a basic power mirror, driver's side for just $78 plus shipping. I'd email them to make sure though the right mirror (non-heated glass).
thanks to everyone for you responses. I went to the dealership and bought the mirror for about $105. But I put it on in about 30 mins. Wasn't that bad.
I found a set of Power, Heated Turnsignal mirrors off of a 2008 that have the puddle lamps. Does anyone know if they will work on a 2004 that has Power, Heated, Turn signal mirrors? Would like the puddle lamp feature to work if possible but don't know if they are compatible or have the same connection.
Hey guys I have an 04 with the power mirrors Non-heated and no turn signal. I would like to get a set of the heated mirrors since we have really bad ice storms around here and I have try to get the ice off the mirrors. How hard would this be?
