Is it wise to change out a working CPS or are there any gains from doing so? Im under the impression there not a "Wear" part, and they either work or they dont. I was just wondering if over time they have made them work better or more efficiently with the PCM, my 02 i believe is still on the stock CPS. Thx FTEs
When I bought my spare cps, I wanted to make sure it worked so I put the new one in and threw the old working one in the glove box for emergency use. Btw, I bought mine right before the $25 one came out.
I bought two of the cheapies a few weeks ago and im itchen to put one in but just wondered if you guys noticed any improvements in the way ur psd ran???

On my E 350, the cps helped a little (I had the typical bad cps symptoms), but it still killed at stop lights sometimes. Upon further inspection, I found that the wires runnung to the cps were bare in spots, so I put some electrical tape over them. That helped a little more, but I still have issues on occasion. FYI, the reason the wires are frayed, is from my idler pully explosion I had last winter. When that pulley went, it caused some carnage.
Put one of the new $25.00 CPS in yesterday, the old one was working ok.When I took out the old one the o-ring was about gone could pull the unit out all most by hand no prying don't know if this would of been trouble down the road. Probally my imagination but it seems like the motor cranks a second or two longer on start up, but starts and runs fine.
