Fuel Filter Top Removal

Tried to change my fuel filter out yesterday morning as it's long overdue to be replaced. However, I couldn't get the cap to move at all. I'm wondering if the heat from my intake spyder has somehow fused the gasket the the plastic and metal pieces? Any ideas on how to get the cap off without breaking the plastic?

Try an oil filter wrench, the band type. I have used it to loosen stuck fuel filter housing caps before. I think some of the O-rings swell more than others and this causes the sticking caps.

I'll have to give that a try tonight. It may be difficult to get the band on the cap portion of the filter though.

They can be a bear to remove. Use a screw driver or another piece of metal that will span across the top and provide some leverage. You will need to remove the decorative cover to do this.

yeah, i've already done that. Used one of my gaint screwdrivers to get at it. Problem is I have intercooler pipes and the intake spyder in the way making things tighter than normal.

Try shocking it with a hammer with the screw driver across the top and then tapping the screw driver to loosen.

MBPR Power Tube

Hey Guys. Newbie here to the forum and to Diesel ownership. I want to start my Mods with a intake and exhaust system. I was wondering if anyone had any input on the Power Tube being offered by MBPR? Reek

They seem also to be tighter under pressure. If you bleed it to a drain pan first and tap-tap-tap it it might help
